Support the Martin Public Library

The Martin Public Library is primarily funded by tax dollars from the City of Martin: however, the library has long benefited from the generosity of many people volunteering their time and donating money. These private donations enable the library to bring more to its citizens than can be done with tax dollars alone. This was especially evident when the Martin Public Library Foundation raised $1.7 million to help construct the new building. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization, and donations meet IRS charitable deduction guidelines.

THERE IS MORE TO DO. Your generosity continues to be needed so that the library can offer expanded programs and services to area citizens. For example, private donations allowed these things to be done in 2022:

  • Offered additional classes in technology, cooking, knitting, sewing, and other skills to the community

  • Partnered with more community organizations including the Weakley County Prevention Coalition, West TN PBS, Martin Farmer’s Market, and others to provide educational and enriching programs

  • Organized and expanded children and teen programs including the Summer Reading Program, Japan Days, Teen Snack Attack, Lego Club, Trivia Night, and much more

BE A LIBRARY CHAMPION

The Library’s Be a Library Champion program is for donors who are committed to making our library a major positive force for the 21st century and who want to help the library offer even more to its citizens. Members of the Champion Program will receive special recognition in the library, invitations to special events and updates on the library’s activities.
