Becky Verner, a social studies teacher from Meigs Academic Middle School, facilitates a set of fun and informational games for all age groups that encourage discussion of ideas critical to our democracy. Try your hand at “My Fellow Citizens” or “Where do You Stand?” and learn about civil dialogue, civic participation, and how participation is the key to a healthy democracy. This event is sponsored by Humanities Tennessee and occurs in conjunction with the Smithsonian traveling exhibit, Voices and Votes, visiting the Martin Public Library, October 7-November 18.
