How does a document ratified in 1788 continue to be used, misused, and interpreted, all while continuing to provide the guiding foundation for American democracy? Dr. Chris Baxter, a professor of political science at the University of Tennessee at Martin will explore recent events requiring application of the United States Constitution 235 years after its ratification. This event is part of the UT Martin Research Series and supports the visit of the Smithsonian traveling exhibit, Voices and Votes, at the Martin Public Library, October 7-November 18.
