 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

There are so many benefits to reading aloud to your child(ren)! It gives them a foundation of language, helping them absorb the sounds and speech patterns. Hearing you read books aloud helps your child’s understanding with the pronunciation and enunciation of words as they begin to speak. It gives them a foundation of how books work, even when they are much too young to turn pages on their own! Reading aloud teaches your child(ren) about the world around them and increases their vocabulary. This helps them in preparation for when they begin school.

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program began as a way to help families give their child(ren) this important early headstart to reading and learning in a fun, engaging way! Simply track the books you read to your child and see how easy it is to reach your goal! We all know that toddlers LOVE repitition, so you may count the same book more than once. Let’s be honest, you may count the same book more ten, twenty, even a hundred times! It doesn’t matter what you read as long as you are reading.
